Anthony Edwards is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on August 5, 2001, in Atlanta, Georgia. Edwards attended Holy Spirit Preparatory School in Atlanta, where he played high school basketball.

 

During his high school career, Edwards was one of the top-ranked players in the country. He was named the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year twice and was also named the McDonald’s All-American Game MVP in 2020. Edwards was considered a five-star recruit and was heavily recruited by many top college basketball programs in the United States.

After considering offers from numerous schools, Edwards eventually committed to the University of Georgia. He played one season for the Bulldogs, where he averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
